Services Offered

  • Free Developmental Screenings are available on-site or in the school/daycare setting. This 15-minute appointment includes scoring the Ages and Stages Parent Questionnaire, observation of the child, and recommendations, which may include contacting The Illinois Early Intervention Program or other professionals (Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, Development Therapists.)
  • Occupational Therapy Evaluations are conducted within a sensory motor environment and typically take 60-90 minutes to complete.  Clinical observations and specific assessment tools are chosen by the therapist, after thorough review of parent-completed paperwork, and are utilized to address parent, physician, and/or teacher concerns.  Clearly written reports are then provided to the parents.
  • Weekly Individual Sessions are scheduled based on child and family needs and are usually one hour in duration, one time a week.  At the end of the session, therapists provide parents with detailed exercises or activities that families are encouraged to engage in between sessions.
  • School Consultations include clinical observation of the child in the school setting, collaboration with teachers/aides and written documentation for follow through.
  • Family Friendly Home Programming  include "Sensory Diets", exercise programs, behavioral strategies and adaptations for self-care.  iPad technology is used to take pictures for home use of exercise carryover and to allow the option for notes to be emailed to the consenting caregiver.
  • Group Sessions are integrative sessions of two or more similar peers ultilzing social interactions to motivate the children to meet their individual goals.  Group sessions may include How Does Your Engine Run Alert Program (R), Sports, and Teen Social Group.
  • Student Workers are taught life skills and work preparation while learning about time management, money management, and office responsibilities.  Our student workers contribute directly to the well-being of our clinic.  This program is available to students tween and up. 
  • OT in the Gymnastics Setting is offered at Ultimate Gymnastics in Gurnee.  Sessions include techniques in Sensory Integration, strengthening and coordination, and sequencing and following directions.
  • Off-Site Sessions are offered at a variety of different locations, which include home, school, daycare, gym, park, sports fields etc.  Offsite locations offer the possibility for children to work on their goals through their occupations, such as biking, rollerblading, scooter riding, sports skills, and cooperative games.
